Dolores Jones, 89, died peacefully Sunday June 18 at Marquis Nursing Home in Portland.
There will be a funeral Mass at St. John Church in Oregon City Tuesday June 27 at 11 a.m. She will be buried next to her husband at Willamette National cemetery.
There will also be a celebration of her life at Howell’s Restaurant in Oregon City July 2 from 3 to 6 p.m
She was born in Etna, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Shaler High School in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania. She worked in Pittsburg as a secretary at McDowell Manufacturing from 1945 to 1951.
She attended All Saints Church in Etna, where she was baptized, confirmed and married her beloved husband John Thomas Jones.
She was a Cub Scout leader in Oregon City and worked as a hostess at The Castle Restaurant and Lounge in Gladstone for 20 years. She then worked many years as a bartender at Howell’s Restaurant and Bar in Oregon City, where she was loved and remembered by many.
She is survived by her five children: Susan, Norman, Patricia, Pamela, and Sandra; four grandchildren, Sarah, John, Malia and Brett; and eight great-grandchildren.
