Larry Spurlock

Larry Lynn Spurlock, 66, a parishioner at St. John the Baptist in Milwaukie, died May 24. The funeral was planned as a private one.

Mr. Spurlock was born Dec. 19, 1950, in Houston. He was a disabled veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Even so, he managed to work at a number of short-term jobs. He was a loving, kind and gentle man who enjoyed making people smile. His family says he always had a good word, a story or a joke.

He married Sharon Sowers June 25, 1989.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Spurlock; his sister, Mary Wiseman of Houston; his stepdaughter, Dana Kang of Los Angeles; grandchildren Tyler and Ava Kang of Los Angeles; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
