Paul Wehrley, Jr.
May 28, 1944 - Feb. 5, 2017

ALAMO, California — Paul Richard Wehrley Jr., 70, died Feb. 5. There was a funeral Mass at St. Mary Cathedral, Portland.

Paul Richard Wehrley was born in Portland May 28, 1944, and named for his father. He was the oldest of five children. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1962 and University of Oregon in 1967, and received his MBA in 1975 from University of Portland. He committed his career to Chevron for 30 years, working in Idaho, Oregon, Florida and California. After retiring, he used his time to give back as a Knight of Columbus at St. Isidore Church, a director of both the Volunteer Center of East Bay and Loaves and Fishes, and a founding board member of Friends of the Children San Francisco.

Mr. Wehrley was eager to laugh, read, give advice and go fishing. He was husband to and in love with Marcie, whom he married 45 years ago in San Francisco. He was a larger-than-life brother to Jane, Rob, Suzanne, and Tim; father to Paul III and Andrew; father-in-law to Laura; grandfather to Alex and Thomas; and friend to people from every stage of his life.

He was a lover of all things fly fishing, Rolling Stones, Ireland, Giants, 49ers, Warriors, and Oregon Ducks. Paul made a mark on everyone who knew him and will be extremely missed.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
