How do we question well?
Regarding "Why we Catholics do what we do,” by Natalie Wade, (June 17, page 22):
"Growing up it was normal to participate in what was happening, without really questioning why."
Our mission church serves a small southern coastal community of mostly retired members, 80+ years and younger. Some are "cradle Catholics," some are converts, some are "just visiting."
If we "would be asked questions about why we were doing something or the meaning behind things," I suspect most of us, along with our sister Natalie, "wouldn't be able to answer," "I had never thought to question what we did and why, so it took until freshman year for me to fully comprehend the magnitude of meaning behind every word and action."
How many of us have thought to question anything about our faith and how we share it with Natalie and our other sisters and brothers? beyond our freshman year?
