Worth handing on
Regarding “The garage sale that saves lives,” (July 15, page 7):
Thank you for that excellent story about Louverture Cleary School and The Madeleine parish annual garage sale to benefit it. This year the garage sale, completely run by volunteers, made more than $25,000.
Regarding “Faith and Healing Linked” on page 9 of the same issue: Thank you for all the research and good information. Reminders like that are needed and appreciated by many. I hope readers will share their faith experiences.
Lizz Lovett’s front-page story is inspiring, although sad. She was faith-filled, yet had to leave her husband and four little ones when she died from kidney cancer.
Your Freedom Sunday story (pages 10-11) shows the July 3 happy celebration of many Vietnamese people who fled their own country for freedom in America. The girls processing in pink and blue Vietnamese dresses are a charming addition to the story, which says that 6,000 worshipers were at the Grotto that day.
The July 15 Sentinel deserves to be shared with family, friends and strangers.
